Postnatal Care Homebirth Families

Our postnatal care appointments are designed to provide holistic support for both the birthing parent and baby in the comfort of your home. Typically scheduled within the first week after birth, then another around 3 to 4 weeks old this visit includes:

A gentle newborn exam to check baby's weight, vitals, feeding, and overall well-being

A wellness check for the birthing parent, including monitoring vital signs, healing progress, uterine involution, and emotional health

Breastfeeding/lactation support tailored to your needs and goals

A safe space to discuss your birth experience, ask questions, and receive encouragement

Guidance on newborn care, bonding, and navigating the early postpartum period

Referrals for additional care or resources as needed

This appointment is grounded in compassion, honoring your transition into postpartum life with individualized attention and respect for your body's wisdom.
